Melbourne Life and their Muggers

I'm currently in Brownless Biomedical Library in Uni of Melb. Lessons ended at 12pm today, and I have been staying here from then to attend this seminar on Neurological Disorder: Mood, which begins at 6pm. So, here I am, trying to adapt to the muggerish spirits of all Melb Uni students. I'm in full awe and woahs here man. You know there are TONS of texts and references you are able to borrow here? They have like about 20 copies of Principles of Neural Science, 15 copies of Human Molecular Genetics, and a whole few dozens of other texts related to all fields you can imagine in biological science. And ALL of them have at least 15 copies of each related texts you can find. Not only that, these books can either be loaned for overnight or for SEVEN days, any time, any day. Not like rigid NTU, only allowing you to borrow these books after 7pm on weekdays or after 2pm on weekends. But then again, this is probably due to the shortage of texts we have back at home.

The people here are smellier muggers than me ok? (Yes, Gerald, you heard me) They have like, at least 3 texts on their desks, all opened and reading notes from them. I feel so bad about sitting down with just one reference text and most of all, for using the free internet I have here to MSN, check my mail and watch Samsoon on YouTube (thanks to it, I shld be able to finish that Korean serial anytime soon). So I've changed my location, to the corner of the library, where I am facing agst the nice white wall, and there's nothing but bookshelves behind me. I do feel a tinge of guilt for my dad who thinks that I am researching hard at the moment. I have not wasted his money (I hope). I had just finished writing my notes and preparing to take a lil break marh. Heh..

Weather's been fine so far. You can really experience all four seasons within a week! Most days last week were nice and cool, breezy as it would have been in autumn. Then comes the weekend, where the sun was hot and scorching. I so didn't wanna get out of my room cuz it was a freakin 32 - 34C! And that is when I saw 1 gigantic housefly along my way to the Art Centre near the Yarra River. Yea, summer season here is the season where the all mightly gigantic and lethargic houseflies come out to play. Now, today is the first time I experience the 20C in Melb. But I have a feeling the airconditioned here is like 15-16C. Erghz. My fingers are so freezed up, I can feel some action of "rigor mortis" in me.

I have been eating healthily so far, thanks to my great cooking for all meals at home. Yea, you heard me right, Mich-Kee-the-lazy-bum-who-does-not-lay-a-finger-on-the-fryin-pan-at-home is actually cooking! I'm not that a bad cook okay? Every dish of mine is edible, though somewhat simple, but still of a nutritious kind! Karina, my Norwegian housemate that I've been talking about, is also on a healthy living lifestyle. I'm so glad I have her and we share similar thoughts and values. Unlike Darius, who apparently is suffering from an immature angmo room mate who likes to puke himself up by getting dead drunk during the weekends. I know Karina drinks (through 283798734719023 cans and bottles of wines I saw under the kitchen sink when I first moved in), but at least she doesn't get drunk and spout nonsense or puke around our house. And remember the congregation room I was talking about? No alcoholic sessions so far! Except for occasional top-of-the-lungs and offkey singings (Mark was screeching to the tune of "Unchained Melody" last night)while the door is wide opened, there hasn't been any major disturbances. In fact, they are now known to Karina and I as the "entertainment clowns". Muahaha.. So there, I'm blessed! Well, perhaps, except for the loss of my beloved classic swatch that served me well for 2 years. Haiz. I'm so depressed by the sudden (and accidental) loss of it, I would not want to go into details and tell the uneventful occasion once again.

Some pics to share.. Next photo proj: Food!
